Pft, what's the deal with hunting one down. Also it wasn't really needed anyway.
Just let one assassin attack the president and most likely a ranger will die.: /Edit: One could argue, that getting the key to the safehouse is enough work for the player already. But then again, he isn't even a damn ranger. Same with the salvaged power armor. Hell, it's not like the NCR has endless supply of these.
They just got what they could get from Helios One and that's all. You can also see it pretty good in the game world: Compared to the elite ranger, there are just very few heavy armor troopers in power armor. The coat from the Followers is bullshit too. I mean, you earn reputation to join the Followers.
And Julie gives you a normal coat. Also you seen after (or even before?) you will get the key to the safehouse, where you get a better coat. So what sense does it make to give the player a weaker one at this stage of the game. In overall the patch correct a lot bugs in many quests, like Camp McCarran (finally that PoS Contreras is usable), Melissa works correct this time, Motor Runner don't bug anymore and so on. I didn't like the fact that a lot of recipes in firecamps became extremelly easy to be made, they nerfed A LOT of them. The poisons are extremelly easy to craft now. Also people will now swim in caps more than ever, since Gecko hides are also nerfed, it's very easy to do them.
Dynamic Herbalism is a must now. The worst part however in my opinion is that you have a NON-FACTION T51-b power armor in the BoS safehouse. I usually don't use power or heavy armor, since they punish your agility or movement a lot, but I think is too much let you have acess to this type of armor early in the game. Before the patch you really have to work to own a non-faction power armor.
People are complaining a lot about the snipers, but I think Obsidian did the right thing, it was obscene the amount of damage they done.
