Yamaha Ex5 Patch Editor Kiwi
Quick Video showing my unique home studio set up with a Kiwi Patch Editor controlling both a JX10 and a Juno 1 together. Can play the Juno from the JX10 (gaining velocity and after-touch), and still use the JX10 to midi control other gear (like the XV-5080). All synths are ran through (2) synced Roland Studio Captures along with an old school Roland A880 midi patch bay. This interface gathers signals from modern gear AND 80's era gear and then sends them to the computer via USB. With the A880, I can mix and match whatever combination of synths I choose, and even sync them together (but usually keep just the rhythms together because SYNC holds up better.when you sync a lot of gear, the A880 itself will struggle at times).
All channels are sent SIMULTANEOUSLY.unheard of just a few years ago. Also note that I have the Vecoven 3.07 ROM chip and the Kiwi PE still works. (You have to check the #52 midi parameters section and switch the setting away from PG800 etc. To get JX10 display to show in real time the PE changes.) Also seems to not want to 'save' these settings, so have to always check them.,.

This piece 'M Minor' utilizes the amazing F33 guitar patch on the Roland XV-5080, played on the beautiful vintage Roland Super JX10, with a haunting custom patch that I just came up with. The EX5R carries the arps and 'breath' noises, as always, via the new Casio XW-P1 with it's own subtle synth sounds.all are awesome machines that combine both true analogue and digital. As usual, this is played in ONE TAKE, 'Live' - (4) synths all at the same time via midi patch chords and layering. So far, just would not have it any other way.
